Open Table Ranks High with GBFB

Open Table regains high ranking with Greater Boston Food Bank

After a year of changes at Open Table, the food pantry and community dinner organization has regained the ranking of Strategic Partner with the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB). It’s a report card that promotes food organizations that give out higher quantity and better quality food.

This ranking is a direct result of Open Table’s move to their own space with on-site refrigeration and longer hours of operation. They received high marks specifically for their increased distribution of fresh produce, additional times for guests to receive services, and their openness to areas beyond the town where they are located.

The higher ranking, which puts Open Table in the top 10% of GBFB partners, gives them access to resources including potential grant money, research data on hunger in their service area, and consulting services to improve organizational management.

Open Table provides healthy food, friendship and support to those in need while respecting their privacy and dignity. They host community dinners every Tuesday evening at their site, 33 Main Street, Maynard, and Thursday evenings at First Parish in Concord.
