Press Release: Donation Center Coordinators

Open Table Names Polly Meyer and Rebecca Snyder Donation Coordinators for New West Concord Drop-Off Center

New site to facilitate large donations and community activities

Concord and Maynard, MA (November 12, 2021) – Open Table, the Concord and Maynard charity dedicated to fighting hunger and building healthy communities, has named Polly Meyer and Rebecca Snyder as donation coordinators for its new drop-off location at 40 Beharrell Street in West Concord. Meyer and Snyder will work to schedule larger deliveries for specific time slots and to oversee community activities at this site.

For more information or to arrange a delivery, contact us at fooddonations@opentable.org.

The new Open Table Drop-Off site in West Concord is replacing the former Everett Street Pantry in Concord. It is open 24-by-seven for drop-offs, but larger food drives require appointments, which can be made Mondays through Thursdays, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

“Open Table is looking forward to getting the school, scout and church groups that usually prepare kids’ bags into the donation center where they can have more of a ‘hands-on’ experience of working with a non-profit,” said Jeanine Calabria, executive director, Open Table. “We really see the West Concord Drop-Off location as a community center where people can get more involved with all that Open Table does.”

Located at 40 Beharrell Street, the Open Table Donation Center is easily identified by the purple onion on its door. The 1500-square-foot facility features a loading dock as well as an outdoor bin for 24-by-7 donations.

Only non-perishable donations that are not expired should be left. All soups – with the exception of chicken or tomato soup – are very much welcome and reduced sodium soups are especially appreciated. For a list of most needed items:  https://www.opentable.org/donate-groceries/

Groceries and supplies can be left at 33 Main Street, Maynard, or 40 Beharrell Street, Concord donation bins 24/7 or at any of our community drop-off partner locations during their regular business hours.

“Open Table already receives exceptional support from individuals and organizations throughout the Metro West area,” said Jeanine Calabria, executive director, Open Table. “The new West Concord Donations Center will enable us to expand the volume of food that we bring into our food pantry and mobile meals programs by providing a central, accessible location for community food donations.”
