Book Club Reminder: Beautiful Country

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to move to another country? What if that country was the United States? Do you work with refugees, asylum seekers or immigrants? Were you ever a member of an expat community? Please join us and the Concord Library for a book discussion of “Beautiful Country” by Qian Julie Wang; the inspiring saga of one immigrant’s journey to becoming “American”.

We’d love to hear from many voices. There is a richness to this autobiographical book which is sure to generate incredible insights for the work of volunteers, staff members, and supporters of non-profits that assist recent immigrants. We hope you’ll join us at the Fowler Library (1322 Main Street) on Thursday, July 21 at 7 PM. The discussion will be facilitated in part by Open Table volunteer, Peilin Reed, whose family moved to New England from Taiwan when she was a teen. The event is free, but space is limited.
