Hear from Some of the People YOU Can Help

As we look back on 2022 and forge ahead in 2023, we want to share some words from our clients. While they often wish to remain anonymous, they very much want to be heard.

A client from Maynard writes:

“You have no idea how many folks you are helping. Many have said the cost of food has increased so much, there would have been times one would have to choose what to purchase: buy food, medicine, pay rent, children’s clothes, and other bills, etc. I speak for myself and many others when I say the following: the assistance from Open Table has allowed many of us to focus on our other expenses. During the trials of the pandemic, you all indeed are at the top of the list for “our first responders!”

A client from Stow said:

“I appreciate the quality of food. I really appreciate the fresh food.  We love the variety. The frozen meals are a great convenience. We take as many as we can use or fit in our freezer. We both lost our jobs during COVID. Now we have 3 jobs between us. You maintain our dignity; you treat us like regular people. It’s easy for people to assume that those needing food are not good people, but we are working hard, we are very educated, we are very involved in Church and community – we serve on town boards, go to town meeting. We give a lot, not only take.“

We thank our clients for sharing their stories with us so we can better understand how to serve them. We could not do this work without all of our generous supporters – people like YOU.

If you have not donated already, please consider a gift now, as funds raised before December 31st will be matched by a generous challenge of up to $50,000 from the Gilson Family Foundation. Help us feed more people where they are.
