Time:   10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

As part of the Lions Club of Concord district-wide soup drive, the Open Table event also will encourage families to bring cans of soup to the new community donations drop-off center. Everyone is invited to come and see the new facility.

Only non-perishable donations that are not expired should be left. Please, no chicken or tomato soup. All other soups are very much welcome and reduced sodium soups are especially appreciated. For a list of most needed items:  https://www.opentable.org/donate-groceries/

Located at 40 Beharrell Street, the Open Table Donation Center is easily identified by the purple onion on its door. The 1500-square-foot facility features a loading dock as well as an outdoor bin for 24-by-7 donations. Larger group donations should be coordinated with Open Table to ensure that someone is there to receive them. Open Table will conduct daily food pickups.

Open Table is seeking both groups and individuals to volunteer at this location, as well as a volunteer community donations coordinator to manage the site. Regular shifts will be scheduled on Wednesday and Friday afternoons to date check and sort donations.

“Open Table already receives exceptional support from individuals and organizations throughout the Metro West area,” said Jeanine Calabria, executive director, Open Table. “The new West Concord Donations Center will enable us to expand the volume of food that we bring into our food pantry and mobile meals programs by providing a central, accessible location for community food donations.”
