Press Release: Grant from The Sudbury Foundation

Open Table Receives Grant from The Sudbury Foundation

Support for Racial Equity and Inclusion Initiatives

Concord and Maynard, MA (October 27, 2023) – Open Table, the MetroWest charity dedicated to fighting hunger and building healthy communities, announced that it has received a generous grant from The Sudbury Foundation as part of their 2023 Racial Equity and Inclusion Grant Program.

Alexandra DePalo, Executive Director of Open Table, underscores the organization’s commitment to diversity. She states, “Our client population represents a rich tapestry of different genders, ages, ethnicities, and races. Our staff and volunteers are deeply rooted in the communities we serve, sharing an important geographic connection with our clients. However, we acknowledge that there is more we can do more to gain a deeper understanding of our clients’ unique needs.”

The Sudbury Foundation grant funds will support ongoing research initiatives and facilitate strategic partnerships to further identity and address unmet needs, particularly within minority and immigrant communities. Alexandra continues, “We are optimistic that the expanded efforts fueled by this grant will not only uncover new opportunities but also enhance our own internal diversity. We are profoundly thankful for this opportunity.”
