Open Table Receives Grant from Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation

Support for Children’s Food Programs

Concord and Maynard, MA (October 24, 2023) – Open Table, the MetroWest charity dedicated to fighting hunger and building healthy communities, announced that it has received a generous grant from the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation in support of children’s food programs.

According to the Greater Boston Food Bank 2023 Food Equity and Access Report one in three households in Massachusetts has experienced child level food insecurity. This distressing statistic signifies that children have gone hungry, skipped a meal, or even gone an entire day without food due to insufficient financial resources. 

“We are deeply thankful for this grant, which will ensure that our youngest clients have access to fresh, nutritious food,” said Alexandra DePalo, executive director, Open Table. “Open Table’s offerings, including groceries, kid-friendly prepared meals, the Fuel Up for Summer lunch program, and fun and healthy Kids’ Bags snacks, all contribute to supporting families with children, allowing kids to focus on the joys of childhood.”
