Press Release: Open Table Receives Grant from MetroWest Health Foundation

Open Table Receives Grant from MetroWest Health Foundation

Gift will support mobile food programs in Hudon

Concord and Maynard, MA (January 5, 2024) – Open Table, the MetroWest charity dedicated to fighting hunger and building healthy communities, proudly announces the receipt of a generous grant from MetroWest Health Foundation. This funding will play a vital role in expanding Open Table’s mobile programs serving the Hudson community.

Mobile pantry programs have proven instrumental in dismantling the time and transportation barriers that impede families from accessing essential services. Open Table works with trusted community partners to bring food to convenient community access points and to provide home delivery services. The grant will additionally support the purchase of culturally appropriate foods, supplementing donated items to align with diverse client preferences. With this funding, the program will be expanded to sustain over 250 mobile pantry operations per month and Open Table will work closely with Hudson officials to extend food support to the Hudson Emergency Shelter.

“Easy access to healthy, familiar foods is fundamental to promoting food equity, and creating a profound impact on lives” said Alexandra DePalo, Executive Director of Open Table. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the MetroWest Health Foundation for their unwavering support of this transformative program.”
